I recommend all Hip-Hop enthusiasts to give this album a try for it not only captivates the listener, but also allows us to gain a greater understanding on rap culture. For those who does not want to hear vulgar words in the album, the clean version is an excellent alternative. Fortunately, there is a clean version of the album available where the profanities are censored.
Moreover, a few misogynistic verses from the album might offend some of the female audiences. Indeed, children should not be allowed to listen to this album and it is not suitable for playing in front of people, lest they become offended. While some rejoice in bumping together with the songs, others might find the obscenities and explicit contents in the tracks quite distasteful. Unfortunately, the content of the song may not be suitable for everyone. Honestly, I took little liking for his previous album, and the only song I enjoyed in the album was the lead single titled "The Real Slim Shady". Indeed, he did much better in this as compared to his previous album, " The Marshall Mathers LP". Many people believed that it was a vast improvement from all his previous albums and really proves his claim of being on top of the Hip-Hop food chain. This album received critical receptions when it debuted in 2002. Such clever play on words clearly determines Eminem's ability as a rapper. The problem is, the vision that he has is going to upset a lot of parents, so the idea that someone like Eminem is going to control the future scares them. "A visionary, vision is scary", where "vision is scary" is a wordplay on the former verse, means that Eminem depicts himself as a visionary he is very intelligent and has a plan for the future. A particular clever verse from "Without Me" is something that will probably be forever etched in my mind. "Without Me" and "Sing for the Moment" is patently the best in the album. While all the songs in the album are critically acclaimed by people of all ages, two of them are truly worthy of a mention. This motivational album had literally saved me from self-harm and it is thanks to the uplifting, elevating lyrics inside that I can become the man I am today. Before listening to this album, I was undergoing a major depression phase, almost resorting to committing suicide. After hearing it, I feel enlightened, as if my whole life has been turned around. It is 77 minutes in duration and depicts the growth of Eminem as a rapper.
